I am recruiting one PhD student (open to individuals from all countries of citizenship) to study the intersection between informality and digital platforms/technology. This is a funded (with a stipend given for TA responsibilities), full-time position for 3 years. The PhD in Management program at Asia School of Business is a research-only degree - coursework will be done on an independent-study basis and I will provide opportunities for my student to travel to co-present at research conferences and attend workshops to improve on your technical and methodological skills. If you are interested, please apply at https://asb.edu.my/academic-program/phd-in-management/. Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2026.
The successful candidate will ideally posses a Masters Degree in a quantitative field or come from a social science background (open), familiar with varied methodological tools (quant and qual), possess immense curiosity on issues affecting informal groups, and possess a passion for using data for social change. The PhD will be co-supervised between myself and Distinguished Professor of Management, Professor Michael Frese.
